In accordance with the concept of development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan, measures are being taken to improve the activities of the State commodity exchange. At the government meeting last Friday, the President of Turkmenistan presented proposals for the modernization of the SCRMET in two stages.
The first stage provides for the creation of conditions for registration services on the exchange to be carried out in an electronic format via the Internet, which will make it possible to provide them online. Using modern methods of document management, this system will help to increase productivity, accelerate the timing of registration of contracts, the creation of a reliable electronic database.
At the second stage, it is proposed to introduce exchange trading through a digital system in the online mode. This will allow you to participate in competitive bidding, without being present on the exchange, from anywhere in the world, which will serve to significantly increase the number of buyers and the formation of optimal prices for goods, increasing the volume of exports.
The first phase of the project is planned to be implemented in 2019-2020, the second-in 2020-2021.
After hearing the report, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of digitalization of all sectors of the national economy in order to accelerate the development of the national economic complex and further strengthen international cooperation.
The head of state stressed that this will contribute to solving urgent problems in accordance with international experience and the legislation in force in our country, instructing the Deputy Prime Minister to once again work out the planned measures for the introduction of digital technologies in the work of the SCRMET.
It should be noted that at the exchange trades of the SCRMET, as a rule, export contracts for the sale of domestic fuel and energy products are in the lead.
