Prospects of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector were discussed at the meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Minister of state, member of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Emir Turki Bin Mohammed Bin Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz al Saud and Vice Chairman, Manager of the Saudi development Fund Khalid Bin Suleiman al Khudeiri, held yesterday in the capital of Turkmenistan.
s it was emphasized during the meeting, taking into account the fact that Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia are world energy powers, there are ample opportunities for effective cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
Turkmenistan is implementing a strategy to form a multivariate system for bringing energy resources to international markets, consistently implementing important infrastructure projects. Among them is the construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), which is of interest to many foreign partners.
Also, great importance is attached to the radical modernization of the fuel and energy sector, the creation of high-tech industries that produce finished competitive products, which also opens up good prospects for cooperation.
Turkmenistan, being a country rich in hydrocarbon resources, is guided by a policy aimed at using these resources, primarily for the benefit of the people, as well as at bringing them to world markets, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed.
Noting that Turkmenistan relies on the latest achievements of scientific and technological progress in the implementation of its economic policy, attracting leading foreign companies and foreign investments, the head of state invited partners from Saudi Arabia to consider the possibility of implementing joint projects in the oil and gas sector and the chemical industry.
At the end of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the King and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia to visit Turkmenistan at a convenient time for them.
