China will begin the construction of the Kyrgyz part of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China gas pipeline in 2019, Chairman of the Kyrgyz state Committee for industry, energy and subsoil Ulanbek Ryskulov told reporters, INTERFAX reports.
According to him, the gas pipeline will be fully built on Chinese funds and will be fully ready in three years after the start of construction, commissioning is scheduled for 2021. "The agreement itself provides for a 35-year period of operation of the gas pipeline, during which Kyrgyzstan will receive $2.5 billion in profit in the form of a special tax. The capacity of the gas pipeline is 30 billion cubic meters, " he said.
According to the project of the fourth branch of the main gas pipeline to China on the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China route, the Kyrgyz part of the gas pipeline is 224 km, it begins with the "Karamyk" checkpoint on the border with Tajikistan and ends near the "Irkeshtam" checkpoint on the border with China.
