Festive bicycle races marking World Bicycle Day were held at the Yerevan Cycle Track. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia with the support of the Cycling Federation of Armenia.

Representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, employees of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, members of the Armenian Cycling Federation, sportsmen and coaches took part in the races. Speaking at the opening ceremony, the participants noted the importance of the UN General Assembly Resolution on establishment of World Bicycle Day that was initiated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The participants of the festive sport event were briefed on Turkmenistan’s policy in the sphere of sports and Turkmenistan’s achievements in developing the mass physical culture movement and popularization of cycling.

The participants raced at the short and long distances. Young racers and members of the Cycling Federation of Armenia demonstrated their cycling skills along with members of the diplomatic corps. On behalf of the Embassy of Turkmenistan ​​all cyclists were awarded memorable souvenirs, and the top winners of the races were awarded valuable gifts.
