More than 70 companies will participate in the IX International gas Congress of Turkmenistan, which will be held on May23-24 at the hotel "Berkarar" National tourist zone "Avaza" on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian sea. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Of Turkmenistan M. Meredov, reporting on the preparations for the upcoming forum at the video-selector workshop, which was held last Monday by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that within the framework of the forum, meetings will be organized in the format of a "round table", during which an exchange of views will be held on the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI).

Focusing on the intensification of international cooperation in the oil and gas sector, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure the holding of the IX International gas Congress at a high organizational level, to create the necessary conditions for its effective work.

The President also stressed that every effort should be made to further improve the activities of the fuel and energy complex at the level of modern requirements. In this regard, the head of state noted the need for effective implementation of best practices, new technologies and scientific and technical developments in the industry.

As previously reported, the organizer of the upcoming gas Congress is the state concern "Turkmengas", co-organizer is the Dutch company KHB Holland.

It is expected that the forum will be attended by managers and top managers of the largest oil and gas companies in the world, as well as prominent industry experts who will discuss current issues of market development and new opportunities for cooperation. Among the topics to be addressed during the sessions are the strategies for the development of the gas chemical and gas processing industry in Turkmenistan, the implementation of regular gas projects at the giant Galkynysh field, the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and many others.

The sponsors of the upcoming forum were the largest international companies, including Dragon Oil, Petronas, LG International, Total, CIM "ARETI", Haldore Topsoe, CNPC, Hyundai, Gazyk.
