"We have reached the final stage of construction of the plant. There is no doubt about the timeliness of its commissioning. The plant will be commissioned in March 2017",- quotes the words of Kalinin the BelaPAN news Agency.

As previously reported, September 30, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat hosted a meeting of members of the government of Turkmenistan with the delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by Deputy Prime Minister A. Kalinin. During the talks, the Turkmen side expressed extreme concern at the continuing failure of the Belarusian party to the assumed contract obligations, including significant delays in the planned construction period for certain facilities of the plant.

In addition, the Belarusian side has still not presented information about the timing of the delivery of the remaining pieces of equipment worth several tens of millions of dollars.

In this situation, Ashgabat stressed the need for the government of the Republic of Belarus of urgent measures for the timely and successful completion of construction of the Garlyk mining and processing plant.

Recall that in early 2010 the State Concern "Turkmenchemistry" and JSC "Belgorhimprom" (Belarus) signed a contract for the construction of "turnkey" mining and processing complex for production of potash fertilizers with capacity of 1.4 million tonnes of potassium chloride per year, including 0.6 million tonnes of granulated and 0.8 million tonnes of fine-grained. The cost of the plant — more than 1 billion US dollars.

The construction of the plant is conducted on the basis of the Garlyk potash salt Deposit in Turkmenistan. According to the contract, commissioning of the plant was scheduled for early 2015. Later, in may of this year, the line commissioning was postponed to the end of March 2017.

The raw material base will be the largest in Turkmenistan, a natural Deposit of potash – Garlyk situated in Koytendag district of Lebap region.

The output of the enterprise on designed capacity will allow to meet the needs of agriculture of Turkmenistan in fertilizers, but will also allow you to export demand on the world market.
