Issues of development of cooperation in the field of oil and gas chemistry were discussed at the meeting of Vice Prime Minister, Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with Minister of foreign Affairs of Oman Yusufim bin Alawi. The parties also considered the further development of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman corridor, the website of the foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
The meeting was held in New York as part of the Turkmen delegation's participation in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. In his speech At the session, R. Meredov outlined the priority positions of Turkmenistan on topical issues of the regional and global agenda.
As part of his participation in the 74th session of the UN General ASSEMBLY, the Turkmen foreign Minister also held meetings with his colleagues from Bahrain and the UAE. During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the expansion of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Turkmenistan.
In particular, at the meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs and international cooperation of the UAE Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, the parties stressed that the recent opening of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Dubai is an indicator of positive cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed the preparation and holding of the world exhibition EXPO-2020, which will be held in Dubai.
It should be noted that the UAE is the most active among the Arab countries in the Turkmen market. For example, Dragon Oil is producing oil in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian sea, and Petrofac took part in the development of the supergiant Galkynysh field, which is one of the largest in the world in terms of natural gas reserves.
