Azerbaijan is an important strategic partner of Turkmenistan and today the relations between our two countries are at a high friendly level. The Ambassador noted that cooperation between the two countries is actively developing in different directions, especially in the field of transport and logistics. "We are implementing a number of projects with Azerbaijan related to the Caspian sea, in particular the project of creating the Afghanistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia transport corridor with access to Europe. Last year, there was already a transit cargo from Afghanistan, it arrived through the territory of Turkmenistan to the port of Alat, in order to go further to Europe," the Ambassador said.
Ishankuliyev noted that at present, 20 documents on cooperation were signed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan within the framework of the visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan last year, seven of them directly relate to cooperation in the Caspian sea.
Another project – the Caspian sea-the Black sea, is important for Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, other Caspian States are interested in its implementation, the Ambassador continued.
He also noted that preparations for the upcoming first Caspian economic forum, which will be held on August 12 in Turkmenistan in the national tourist zone "Avaza", have been started. The date of the first forum of the Caspian countries coincides with the Day of the Caspian sea.
The agenda will cover a wide range of issues that will form the basis of future areas of cooperation between the States parties.
