– Turkmenistan, possessing enormous natural resources, enjoys great prestige in the world as a major energy producer and a reliable partner. We use our natural resources for the benefit of all mankind. Vivid examples of this are already implemented and ongoing large–scale projects, in particular, the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan-India gas pipeline. The construction of this major transnational gas pipeline is currently proceeding at an accelerated pace. In the future, the implementation of such projects in the fuel and energy complex, which have regional and global significance, will be one of the key directions of our state policy, – is said in the message of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the day of oil and gas industry and geology.
– We are focused on diversifying the oil and gas sector and expanding its infrastructure by creating new modern production facilities. In this aspect, our priority is the processing of natural gas and the production of new products. Great steps are being taken in this direction in the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan. Among them is the gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene, built and commissioned this year in the village of Kiyanly of the Balkan province, as well as the plant in the village of Ovadandepe of the Akhal province for the production of high-quality gasoline of Euro-5 standard, the construction of which is at the final stage. These large enterprises will contribute to the integrated industrialization of the country's regions, the creation of new jobs, as well as the strengthening of the power of the national economy, – the address says.
– In recent years, much attention has been paid to the development of the petrochemical industry in Turkmenistan. One of our main tasks is the efficient use of rich hydrocarbon resources, increasing the volume of their processing and export. A striking example of this is the start of production of domestic diesel fuel ECO-5, fully compliant with Euro-5 standards, as well as polypropylene film at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.
The program of development of the oil and gas industry for the period up to 2030 provides for the implementation of measures aimed at further increasing the production capacity of the industry, which is closely related to ensuring the energy security of the country, the goals of sustainable development at the global and regional levels. To do this, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of work in oil and gas fields with the use of new technologies that meet the requirements of modernity.
– I am sure that the purposeful, hard-working Turkmen oil, gas and geologists will cope with the solution of all tasks with honor, – the Presidential address emphasizes.
